The art of photography captures an infinitesimal moment in time and makes it last forever.
Kevin Shafer was first introduced to photography as an undergraduate student at the University of Kansas majoring in journalism with an emphasis on magazine publishing. His first few jobs working on small-town daily newspapers in rural Kansas enabled him to practice the art of photojournalism. He enjoyed a successful career in publishing that spanned several decades, progressing from newspapers to magazines to book publishing. The latter half of his career was spent running his own business as a freelance consultant to major book publishers, primarily as a writer and editor. He now uses his photography to satisfy his creative appetite, constantly striving to hone his skills in a variety of genres, and in a variety of ways. Through his photography, he seeks to not only capture what he sees in the world around him, but, just as importantly, what he might have missed with the naked eye. Capturing a fleeting moment in time always means creating a memory that lasts forever.
